Comprehensive Home Energy Saving Solution (CHESS) offers our residential members a way to improve their home and electric bills through specific energy-efficient upgrades. This allows our energy auditors to conduct an audit of your home and diagnose deficiencies in the home that can lead to high energy consumption. By identifying these problem areas and making repairs, this can easily make a difference in your energy usage and costs. A certified contracted technician will evaluate and administer the recommended energy-efficiency improvements approved by the member.

This program is available to members at no cost and takes anywhere from one to four hours, depending on the size of your home and its current efficiency. Homes are eligible for an assessment of your usage, including a comprehensive walk-through inspection. These improvements include the comprehensive energy audit with report and recommendations. It could also include up to 10 recessed canister lighting air sealed, duct sealing, water heater inspection, A/C coil cleaning, caulking, weather-stripping, installation of low-flow faucets and showerheads if necessary and insulation inspection and installation up to $1,000.

This program is based on guidelines that include square footage of home, age of home, and past energy usage over a 12 month period.

Identifying areas that need improvement and the member having them fixed, will make a real difference in your usage and cost. The certified contracted technician will present a written report of energy issues, a list of the upgrades made and even more suggestion to further your home’s efficiency.
