Logging into & Configuring Your GigaCenter 844G

These options are only available to users that utilize our Managed Wireless Router Service.

Logging into the 844G

  1. Connect to your device wither with an ethernet cable or by Wi-Fi.
  2. Open a web browser window and enter http://192.168.1.1 into the address bar.
  3. You will be prompted for a username and password. These are on a sticker on the 844G device. Each unit has a unique username and password.
  4. Select Login.

You should now see the main menu like the one below that will allow you to customize several features of your wireless network.

Parental Controls

You can block devices, block specific sites, or limit access to your network. Access these options from the main menu by selecting Advanced.

Website Blocking

  1. After selecting Advanced from the main menu, select Website Blocking.
  2. Select New.
  3. Enter the URL of the website you wish to block.
  4. Select IP Address or Device to determine what will be displayed in the drop down menu.
  5. Choose your desired IP address or device from the Associate Website With drop down menu.
  6. Select Apply.

Scheduling Access

  1. After selecting Advanced from the main menu, select Scheduling Access.
  2. Select MAC Address or Device to determine what will be displayed in the drop down menu.
  3. Select your desired MAC Address or Device from the drop down menu.
  4. Set time ranges and even days of the week with which to allow internet access to the selected device.
  5. Select Add.

Service Blocking

Add New Services to the Blocking List

  1. After selecting Advanced from the main menu, select Service Blocking.
  2. Select New and fill in all the fields.
  3. Select Apply. This service will now be available in the drop down list when selecting service to block.

Block Services

  1. After selecting Advanced from the main menu, select Service Blocking.
  2. Select New.
  3. Select a service from the drop down list.
  4. Select IP Address or Device to determine what will be displayed in the drop down menu.
  5. Select your desired IP Address or Device from the Associate Service With drop down menu.
  6. Select Apply.

Renaming Your SSID & Changing Your Password

Renaming Your SSID

  1. From the main menu, select Wireless.
  2. Select SSID Setup under 2.4G Network.
  3. Enter your desired SSID name next to Rename SSID.
  4. Select Apply.
  5. Repeat steps 1 through 4 to do the same for the 5G Network.

Your devices connected to Wi-Fi will lose connection until connected to the new network name you selected.

Changing Your Wireless Password

  1. From the main menu, select Wireless.
  2. Select SSID Setup under 2.4G Network.
  3. Select Security.
  4. Select Use Custom Security Key and enter the password you wish to use.
  5. Select Apply.
  6. Repeat steps 1 through 5 to do the same for the 5G Network.

Your devices connected to Wi-Fi will ask for the updated password.
