Electrical Safety Tips

ELECTRICAL SAFETY BEGINS AT HOME:

  1. Outlets and Plugs    Check for outlets that have loose-fitting plugs which can overheat and lead to fire.

  2. Cords    Make sure cords are in good condition - not frayed or cracked.

  3. Light Bulbs    Use the correct wattage bulb for light fixtures and lamps.

ELECTRICAL SAFETY IN YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD:

  1. Overhead Power Lines    Never trim, touch or climb near overhead power lines.

  2. Buried Power Lines    Make the call - find out where your utility lines are buried.

  3. Neighborhood Switching Equipment    Keep the switching equipment in your neighborhood free from vandalism and report any damage immediately.
